Mr. Romney has Lied

I am not writing this to tear down anyones church or beliefs but simply to expose Mr. Romney for the disingenuous person that he is.  I have struggled about whether I should somehow respond to Mr. Romney and His Church for their response to questions that have come up about his religion and I have decided that to be silent would make me complicit in the lie.

As a former member of the LDS church, who served and worshiped as a member in good standing with a temple recommend, very important in the LDS church, I need to let you know that Mitt Romney is dishonest in the worst way. He has lied about his own faith in order to make it palatable for others who have questioned the LDS church and its beliefs. If a man will lie about the governing beliefs of his faith to make it more palatable, what else will he lie about to make his real positions and core values more palatable? A very viable question that needs to be addressed. This is not about religion or whether the questions should have been asked, but about what we do when it is asked and answered dishonestly.

Like all LDS faithful I believed and accepted that Satan was the literal spirit son of God as was Jesus and each of us, that Satan and a 3rd of the host fell and that Jesus was the one with the plan. We all have to be born into a physical body in this world and embrace the one true church, the LDS church in order to enjoy eternity in the celestial kingdom with God and Jesus and to have the opportunity to be the Gods of our own world one day.

Romney and the LDS church couched their responses to questions about the LDS faith in terms that would make it palatable to those who don't know better and are evangelical or Catholic Christians.

Again I ask, “if a man cannot answer honestly about the core beliefs of his faith how can we trust him to answer honestly to anything?

He does have an impressive record as a flip flopper but wants us all to accept that what he tells us now about his position is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Is it really Mr. Romney or is it just what you think we want to hear?

Voices of Change

A lot of Americans are loosing their way in the fog being created by the winds of change blowing across the conservative Republican landscape, and false hope is being found in the voices of those crying conversion to conservative principles and values, such as Huckabee and Romney. Added to those voices are the ones of the so called straight talkers with unashamedly liberal records and policies, such as McCain and Guliani.

The good Reagan Conservatives are struggling to discern who best will represent their principles and core beliefs, but in the confusion they are dangerously close to going over a cliff. They are failing to hear the real voice of hope and reason calling out to guide them safely back and to preserve the core conservative, Federalist principles this country was founded and built on.  Principles that the Reagan Coalition brought back and embraced.

That voice is coming from Fred Thomson, and the time is now to stand and follow the only voice determine to lead us from certain peril. The heart and soul of the Republican party is truly at risk. I am not so concerned about a party, but I am deeply concerned about the conservative principles being thrown over the cliff under cover of the fog being created by these voices of change rolling across the conservative landscape.  Fred Thompson has stood steadily for the core, conservative principles that the Reagan Coalition brought back to the Republican party.  He stood there yesterday, he stands there today and I believe he will be there tomorrow.

We need to take a deep breath and listen carefully before we topple over the side of that cliff with our principles and we need to take back our party. If those with the voices of change and last minute conversions want a new party then I say, "go create your own, you can't have mine!”
